| Abstract | INPE is a pioneer in the free distribution of remote surface sensing images. The repositories of the CBERS, Landsat and, more recently, Sentinel missions have been made available to the scientific community and industry through web portals for downloading individual scenes. Given the volume of these repositories, especially the Sentinel images and the CBERS 4 and 4A high resolution images, users have been requesting new ways of accessing these collections. In this work we describe the architecture that has been developed at INPE to provide a web services interface that allows users to access these collections not only through the institutions portal, but also through the development of programs/applications that interact with a web catalog service and a data visualization service. RESUMO: O INPE é pioneiro na distribuição gratuita de imagens de sensoriamento remoto da superfície. Os repositórios das missões CBERS, Landsat e, mais recentemente, Sentinel, têm sido colacados à disposição da comunidade científica e da industria através de portais web para download das cenas individuais. Dado o volume desses repositórios, em especial das imagens Sentinel e das imagens de alta resolução CBERS4 e 4a, os usuários têm requisitado novas formas de acesso a esses acervos. Neste trabalho descrevemos a arquitetura que vem sendo desenvolvida no INPE para fornecimento de uma interface de serviços web que permita aos usuários o acesso a esses acervos não somente por meio do portal da instituição, mas também através do desenvolvimento de programas/aplicações que interajam com um serviço de catalogo na web e um serviço de visualização de dados. |
